HORTUS ARTIS 2023

Hortus Artis 2023 – a summer open-air concert series of chamber music in the garden of Dom Albrechtovcov, recalls and continues the tradition of cultivating music in the captivating setting of the historic part of the capital city. The series follows on from three previous editions of the festival (2019 - 2022) and remains true to the idea of presenting chamber music with high artistic ambitions. The "historical" part of the concerts features Baroque vocal chamber music (Caccini, Castaldi, Ferrari, Landi), as well as works for guitar and other instruments by the Bratislava-born Johann Nepomuk Hummel. The other part of the programme presents virtuoso chamber string music of the 19th and 20th centuries in traditional forms (duos, trios, quartets, sextets) and combined ensembles with wind instruments (flute quartet, quintet, saxophone quintets).
