About the project
ALBRECHT FORUM, o.z. is a civic association that we founded in 2010 with the aim of restoring the Albrecht House and its premises on Kapitulská Street in Bratislava, and creating within it a cultural center for classical music, literature, visual arts, theater, film, philosophy, art history, and other social sciences.
With our activities, we build upon the values of the Albrecht family household, which co-created the diverse and rich intellectual and spiritual life of Bratislava during the turbulent times of the 20th century. The core of our activities is rooted in the ideas of humanism, tolerance, and the aesthetic and ethical development of human beings.
In the memorial room of the Albrecht family, the library of music historian Ladislav Kačic, and through concert activities, presentations, and discussions, we commemorate important yet neglected personalities of our musical culture: composer Alexander Albrecht (1885 – 1958) and his son, musicologist, historian, and founder of the early music movement in Slovakia, Ján (Hansi) Albrecht (1919 – 1996).
