IN WILHELMINE'S FOOTSTEPS - Domus & Hortus artis 2026

Wilhelmine of Bayreuth (1709 – 1758) was an exceptionally talented composer and a prominent figure of 18th-century Baroque music. In addition to her composing activities, she was an outstanding lutenist, harpsichordist, and an important patron of culture. Her most famous surviving work is the Italian opera Argenore, which she wrote in 1740 in honor of her husband's birthday, but separate arias, chamber, and concertante works have also survived. They bear the hallmarks of the late Baroque style and reflect the influence of both German and French musical traditions. Wilhelmine transformed the Bayreuth court into a cultural center – hiring musicians, procuring musical instruments, staging operas, and overseeing the construction of the famous Margravial Opera House.

Advance ticket sales end at 12:00 on the day of the event. Remaining tickets, subject to availability, will be on sale 30 minutes before the concert at the Albrecht House.

Reservations are possible by phone at 0905 871 868. Reserved tickets must be picked up no later than 20 minutes before the start of the concert at the Albrecht House.
