HORTUS ARTIS 2022

After a year, we invite you again to the garden of the Albrecht House, where the third edition of the HORTUS ARTIS chamber music festival will take place. From 10th to July the 4th September, we will meet on Sunday evenings at 6 pm to listen together to works that have formed part of the rich musical history of the European continent. The emphasis will again be placed on works related primarily to the Central European space and our city. In this edition, alongside string chamber music, there will be more vocal music from the 13th-19th century. With its variety and content we focused on, we want to commemorate the tradition of cultivating chamber music in this place. It was here, at Kapitulska 1, that the first early music ensemble in Slovakia – Musica aeterna – was founded on the initiative of Jan Albrecht in 1973. This act also broadened the field of cultivating “traditional” chamber music by historically informed performing art.
